AmmaSpecial Idli Dosa is a soft, fluffy, and mildly crisp dosa that brings the comfort of homemade South Indian breakfasts to your plate. Made effortlessly using AmmaSpecial Idli Dosa Batter, this recipe delivers perfect texture and authentic taste every single time — just like amma makes at home.
- Total Time: 15 minutes
- Yield: Makes 6–8 soft dosas
Ingredients
- 2 cups AmmaSpecial Idli Dosa Batter
- Salt to taste (if required)
- Water (only if batter needs slight thinning)
- Oil or ghee – for cooking
- Finely chopped onions (optional)
- Green chilies (optional)
- Fresh coriander leaves (optional)
Instructions
Take the required quantity of AmmaSpecial Idli Dosa Batter in a bowl.
Check consistency — the batter should be thick yet pourable. Add a little water only if needed.
Heat a non-stick or cast-iron tawa on medium flame and lightly grease it with oil or ghee.
Pour a ladleful of batter at the center and gently spread slightly (do not spread too thin).
Sprinkle onions, green chilies, and coriander if desired.
Drizzle a few drops of oil around the edges.
Cook on medium flame until the bottom turns golden and the top looks cooked and fluffy.
Flip gently if required and cook for another 30–40 seconds.
Serve hot with coconut chutney, tomato chutney, or sambar.
Notes
Do not over-spread the batter; Idli dosa tastes best when thick and soft.
Fermentation is already balanced in AmmaSpecial batter — no additional resting required.
Best enjoyed fresh and hot.
Suitable for breakfast or light dinner.
